The BOB Sport Utility comes with the same safety features as most other joggers, including a five-point harness with a hand brake as well as a foot brake. It doesn't have a suspension system that can help absorb the impact of bumps and uneven terrain, which can make it uncomfortable for young kids. The wheels made of metal don't last as long as those with larger tires, so it isn't an ideal choice for rough surfaces.
Furthermore, the canopy is quite small, which means it's not as a great way to cover or protection from sun. Despite its shortcomings, the Baby Trend Expedition makes a great option for parents on a the tightest budget and want an all-terrain stroller. It also comes with a number of useful features, like a parent tray with cup holders and a child's tray with two cup holders.
Out 'n' About Nipper Sport V4
UK brand Out 'n' About has won legions of fans for its range of jogging buggies, and this model is their most popular running buggy. It is lightweight and easy-to-steer however, it also comes with robust 16" wheels that can take on even the toughest terrain. It has a fixed front wheel, so it's simple to lock straight for running, however you can pull a lever on the handlebar to release and allow the wheel to swivel for casual strolling or climbing hills.
The suspension is excellent particularly when riding on bumpy and rocky bridleways. The only niggle was that the brake on the handlebar isn't as responsive as we'd like it to be, and the Nipper Sport V4 can't be used with a baby car or car seat (although it can accommodate an infant insert and has a carrycot that can be used for occasional night-time sleeps).
The instructions are clear and we were able to put it together in less than 10 minutes. The hood and seat liner must be installed by you, but it's not difficult. It's just a matter of patience to insert the harness straps into respective slits on the padded seat liners. The seat's back is a medium-sized storage pouch but it's not enough to hold a change bag.
The Out 'n' About Nipper Sport V4 can be used as early as birth, however it's recommended to wait until your child is six months old before you use it for running. The harness isn't tight enough to support a newborn comfortably, so you will need to purchase an additional carrycot.
